Why don’t you have specific dates on your waitlist?
Creativity is a process. Sometimes designs go quickly, sometimes they take longer. I want each client to get my full and devoted attention. I publicly display the waitlist so you will always know where I am at. Once you are on the waitlist, I will send you the design homework and be in contact with you in regards to design inspiration and ideas. It is my belief that you can’t rush good design.

Do you design those cute illustrated figures I see on other people’s blogs?
Sadly, I am not an illustrator artist. If you are looking to have an illustrated figure as the main part of your header there are a bunch of other wonderful designers out there who specialize in illustration, like Laura @ Eight Days Designs or April @ A Mommy’s Blog Design Studio. It’s important to pick a designer whose style matches your own. I prefer to design with a more simple and modern look. You can see more of my design style in my portfolio.

Do you recommend Blogger or WordPress for a beginner?
Creating a free account at Blogger is the best way for beginners to dip their feet into the blogging world. Blogger has an easy to use format that can be less intimidating than WordPress. With Blogger, you can purchase your own domain name (“something.com”) and have many of the same functionalities of a WordPress style blog (i.e. menus, unique layouts) without having to pay a hosting fee.

Is there a difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org?
WordPress.com is a website that offers free blogs, much like Blogger.com. However, the customization options are limited with a free account. To have access to change many of the design elements you need to sign up for a premium account.
WordPress.org offers the free WordPress software many web designers use to design blogs, and blogs that function as websites. Blogs that are built on WordPress software must be installed manually and self-hosted, usually at a cost of $7-12 per month. This site is built using the WordPress platform, and you can see that there are some advanced features that WordPress.com and Blogger.com do not offer. The design services that I offer for WordPress use the WordPress.org software.
